Frequently Asked Questions
Here are answers to our most commonly asked questions.
No. Aquascapes is a professional pool design and consulting company. We provide design expertise, planning and guidance throughout the agreed process, while you contract directly with the licensed trades performing the construction work.
Not at all. You won't be digging trenches, installing plumbing or figuring everything out from scratch. Aquascapes helps you understand the process, connects you with experienced licensed professionals and provides guidance along the way. You remain involved and in control of the decisions that affect your project.
A traditional pool builder typically gives you one contract covering the entire project and manages the construction through its subcontractors. With the Aquascapes model, you have greater visibility into the individual phases of your project and contract directly with the licensed trades performing the work. Aquascapes provides the professional design and guidance that helps you navigate the process.
It depends on the project. On larger or feature-rich pools, avoiding layers of traditional builder markup can create meaningful savings. On other projects, the greater advantage may be getting more for the same investment—better equipment, more decking, upgraded finishes or additional features. Our goal isn't simply to build the cheapest pool. It's to help you get the greatest possible value from your backyard investment.
You'll be more involved than you would be with a completely turnkey pool builder. You'll make decisions, communicate with the professionals you've hired and participate in scheduling. But even with a traditional builder, homeowners still need to make selections, provide access and accommodate construction schedules. Aquascapes helps you understand what comes next so you're not navigating the process without guidance.
Aquascapes can introduce you to experienced licensed professionals for the various phases of your project and help you understand your options. You decide whom you want to hire based on factors such as scope, pricing, reputation and availability.
You do. You contract with and pay the licensed trades you select directly. This is an important part of the transparency and control built into the Aquascapes model.
No—and that's okay. If you want to sign one contract and have a general contractor assume responsibility for the entire construction project, a traditional pool builder may be a better fit. Aquascapes is designed for homeowners who value professional design, transparency and greater control and are willing to participate in the process in exchange for the potential to get significantly more value from their investment.
